Ms. Terry M. Rubenstein, Chair

Terry M. Rubenstein is Executive Vice President of the Joseph and Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds located in Baltimore, Maryland. The Family Funds have provided grants to numerous cultural and educational programs in Israel since 1953. The Funds also support the Jewish community and cultural projects in Baltimore. Terry has a B.S. Degree from Emerson College and received an honorary doctorate in Israel from Ben-Gurion University in Israel for her work in the Negev. Prior to staffing the funds, she was a builder and developer for two decades and a reporter with the Baltimore Sun. Today she serves on the boards of several Jewish/Israel focused organizations, including the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, the Israel Education Fund-UJC and Project Interchange. She is a former member of the JAFI board. Terry lives in Baltimore with her husband.


Mr. Jacob Schimmel

Jacob (Jacky) Schimmel, LLB MA (Phil) is Chairman of UKI Investments, the Schimmel Family’s investment arm. After graduating in law and philosophy from University College, London in 1987, Jacob spent 10 years at the family’s real-estate business, one of the largest private real-estate companies in the United Kingdom. Today, as Chairman of UKI Investments, Jacob is responsible for the family’s interests in real estate, financial services, technology, aviation, mining, tourism and telecommunications. The family’s business interests are located mainly in the United Kingdom, France and Israel, but with growing involvement in Eastern Europe, Asia and the United States. Recently, Jacob has been involved in the purchase of IDB Holding Corporation Ltd., one of the largest business enterprises in Israel. The IDB Group, which incorporates over 200 companies, has leadership positions in almost every field of Israeli industry: telecommunications, finance, real estate, retail, building materials and technology.

Jacob is deeply committed to philanthropy. In addition to being one of the founding board members of Israel Philanthropy Advisors, he serves on the board of various charitable foundations, including the Schimmel Family Foundation, the ImagineNations Group (Chair), The United Way, Israel - Matan (Chair), The American Joint Jewish Distribution Committee – USA, and the European Board of the International Youth Foundation.


Mr. Ariel Kor

Ariel Kor is Executive Director of Sampoerna Capital, the Sampoerna Family Office. Israeli-born, Singapore-bred, Kor is a graduate of Oxford University. He commenced his career at Lehman Brothers' investment banking division and joined Evergreen Partners upon moving to Israel. He was formerly with Triton Partners, one of the largest European middle market buy-out funds and joined the Sampoerna family shortly after the sale of the family business. He is based in London. Kor is also a board member of the Harel Insurance Group and a director of the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Company.


Mr. Ronen Barel

Ronen Barel is Vice Chair and Israel Sub Area Chairman of Ernst & Young.
Ronen joined Ernst & Young in 1986, and since becoming a partner in 1991, has focused his work on major companies, especially publicly traded companies in Israel and abroad. He has extensive knowledge in accounting, tax auditing and IPO processes. Ronen served as Managing Partner of Ernst & Young Israel between 2000 and 2007 and as of April 2007 has been active Chairman. Ronen is a native born Israeli; he served in the Intelligence Corp of the IDF, and has a B.Sc. in Economics and Accounting from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
